G.O. Howell

Glenn Howell

Born May 30, 1956 in Steubenville, Ohio. Received first camera (8mm movie) from my father at age 12 and made crude animated films. Studied journalism in high school. Went to Asbury College to study for the ministry and changed major to art. Studied there under painter Ed Knippers. Went to India the first time in 1980 as a short-term missionary. Senior year studied at Y.S.U. in Ohio and received a B.F.A. degree in Studio Art and Photography in 1982. Designed an art dept. and curricullum and taught art, painting, ceramics and photographyin a private Christian School in Minnesota for three years. Moved to Virginia in 1993 to manage mounting and display depts. for photographic labs. Met and married Virginia Hickey and now live near Warrenton, VA. Since living in VA, I've also been back to India two more times, became Lay Leader for our Methodist Church, worked free-lance for the local newspaper, been Blessed with 6 grandchildren and am continuing to work on my art from a Christian perspective.
